Better But...

Since December 23rd, I have not been feeling well. I can't believe I was sick on Christmas day. I found a bit of energy to cook a wonderful dinner for my family though. After having dinner with my hubby and son, I went straight to bed and rested. I missed and still miss hugging and kissing the men of my life coz up to this time I still have the "remnants" of this horrible cold. I am feeling better though.

What I Do

When I don't feel like doing anything online, one of my favorite past times is to play computer games. Cake Mania is one of my favorites. It's not my ultimate fave but still, I like playing it once in a while :) Here's a Cake Mania 2 screenshot, there's Jill.

In Cake Mania 1, Jill rescued her grandparents' bakery. In Cake Mania 2, she's trying to help her friends Posh and Jack with their bakeries. It's fun! :) 200 levels and 6 possible endings.

Trying

Lately, I never had much time to drop ECs because of my second WAH job. I am trying though. But it's a bit frustrating when every time I'd find time to do it, the EntreCard site is just too slow. Very frustrating. I lost regular droppers because of that cause I can't return the favor to them. *sigh*

Leverage

Since one of my fave shows next season will start on January, I found another series that's worth watching (at least for me :D). It's the new series on TNT entitled Leverage starring Academy Winner Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf and Aldis Hodge. Their pilot episode was shown commercial free last December 6. With that first episode, I think I like it and will probably watch it religiously. I am not so familiar with the actors and actresses but they did pretty well.

About the Show: (excerpts from the website www.tnt.tv)

"The series follows a team of thieves, hackers and grifters who act as modern-day Robin Hoods, taking revenge against those who use power and wealth to victimize others.

Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Timothy Hutton, Beth Riesgraf and Aldis Hodge

In LEVERAGE, Hutton plays former insurance investigator Nate Ford, a once-loyal corporate employee who had recovered millions of dollars in stolen goods for his employer. But when that employer denied his son’s insurance claims and allowed the boy to die, he realized he could no longer work for such an entity.

Out of work and descending into alcoholism, Ford is hired by an aeronautics executive to recover airplane designs the executive claims were stolen by a rival company. Helping him are four highly skilled team members: Parker (Beth Riesgraf – Alvin and the Chipmunks), an expert thief; Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge – Friday Night Lights), a specialist in Internet and computer fraud; Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane – Into the West), a high-octane “retrieval specialist” who can take out a gang of henchmen without breaking a sweat; and Sophie Devereaux (Gina Bellman – Coupling), a grifter who could win awards for her acting skills during difficult scams. At first the newly formed team is hesitant to trust each other after so many years working alone but being double-crossed changes the dynamic, ultimately forcing them to unite. They emerge from the job realizing they are far better working together than apart. Once they discover they can trust each other the group targets their cons toward the richest, the greediest and the most unjust."

It's A Pain, But A Must

Men! I'm getting a headache. I just did my usual thing with my son here. We just finished one of the lessons from the book entitled Teach Your Child How To Read in 100 Easy Lessons. So far, we are in Lesson 15. My, my, my, it is a pain to teach him because there are instances that he wouldn't pay attention so I have to like do something to get his attention. Sometimes I feel like he's testing me on how far my patience could go. Also, there are times that I would just like to stop and forget about it, but he's the one who's gonna suffer at the end. But anyway, once he pays attention he gets the lesson pretty quick, so we're all good. :) I just don't like the headache that goes with it :P

Unlucky

My friend Che, just called me and complaining about how unlucky she was today. She said that on her way to work, she remembered that her driver's license is not with her as she forgot it in her other purse. She had to go back home. As she was pulling in their driveway, she said that her tires slipped in the icy driveway and almost hit their neighbors house. Her car had a little scratch though. I told her that she's still lucky because her car just had a scratch instead of slamming to their neighbors house. Then at work she said that their pharmacy almost had an explosion cause one customer hit one of their gas pipes. She said they could have died if the gas thing exploded.

Sunday, Sunday

I did not sleep today as much as I slept yesterday. I had to wake up a bit early to take care of the clothes. I had to wash the bedsheets to and the comforters. Then hubby told me that he's going to the store real quick. When he got back, he has this carpet steamer. It was funny because he was trying to put the steamer together and kept complaining about the water not coming out or something. I tried to help him but he kept shooshing me :D So I left him alone. I jumped to bed instead and watched t.v. :)

Slept All Day

Yesterday, Black Friday, my MIL and I went to a few stores and checked out what's goin' on, unfortunately, all the good stuff were gone. I bought nothing but a few grocery items and toiletries. Then, we picked up my hubby's niece at one of the train stations in Chicago then back to the house. She's supposed to celebrate thanksgiving with us, but she didn't make it. Anyway, at the house my MIL and I reheated all the food from Thanksgiving. We were all starving :D After dinner, hubby ran the show eheheehe he was like a storyteller telling all his childhood escapades :) We enjoyed it actually. We rested for a little while then hubby had to take his niece back to her hotel in downtown Chicago. As for me, I cleaned up the kitchen and everything then off to bed... I woke up at 1 p.m. today... I am so thankful coz hubby let me sleep till my eyes hurt :D He took care of my son's breakfast and everything. I just had breakfast and off to bed again...falling asleep every now and then while watching t.v. Didn't do anything on the computer except this entry. :) Later!

Great Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving here. It was a bit tiring but a wonderful one. We had turkey with gravy, greens, sweet potatoes, garlic rice, mashed potatoes, rolls, cranberry sauce, corn and my MIL brought the turkey dressing and peach cobbler. I think I gained a few pounds just by eating Thanksgiving dinner. Wew! I ate too much... My MIL stayed for the night, we watched a movie and she helpe me clean up the kitchen. Checked my emails and other online stuff and then went off to lalaland! Today, Black Friday, we might go out for a little while later, pick up my hubby's niece in Chicago, then be back here to have dinner (we have lots of leftovers from last night) :D Yum!

Here are some of the photos on kuletz' birthday. We did not do a lot this time, unlike last year, there are a few other kids that we've invited. Plus, we took him to the Ringling Brothers circus as our advance celebration, he had a blast, I tell you. :) And the celebration is not over, cause his grandma will be taking her somewhere when she gets back from PA.

It is already frightening to be involved in a car accident, and so the least thing we want to be in after that is the hassle of going through tons of auto body shops that would best fits our need. To avoid that, here is one website that can help you find a repair expert, collisionrepairexperts.com. They are committed in giving their customers positive experience. So, check them out now. It sure would come in handy if you happen to be in an unavoidable car incident.

Skype

Recently, Oprah has been using Skype in her show too. Today, my sister asked me if I have Skype, I said nope and told her about the Windows Vista thingy.. She said she's using Windows Vista... so I checked Skype's website and there it was. It is ok now with Vista.. so I download it.. looks cool.. and geez! When I logged in, over eight million people is online... looks like I'm the only one that don't have Skype :D

How Can I ?

How can I lose weight if I can't help myself but eat every moment... Geez! I've been eating like there's no tomorrow. I am always like this when my "time of the month" is coming. Just like tonight, it was almost midnight but I ate a bunch of oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies with macadamia nuts, which I baked by the way, washed with a tall glass of milk, then I had a handful of Doritos and to top that all off, I made me a banana split with lots of whipped cream, chocolate syrup and cherries. And guess what? I still feel hungry... Darn! What is wrong with me... I think I have an Anaconda in my stomach... yaiks!

Shopbob Coupons

It is the time of the year again. Thanksgiving is coming up and then there is Christmas. I am thankful that this year, my holiday shopping list is not that long. I am a smart shopper. I always pay attention and look for sales and yes, I use coupons. I love using coupons to save money. Coupons or discount codes seem not a lot but your savings can add-up over the course of the year and knowing that you drastically reduced your household expenses is a great feeling.

Anyway, I am just happy right now because I found what I was looking for, some Shopbob coupons, yey! Shopbob is my niece’s fave store and since she is young, trendy and into eco-friendly stuff, I decided that this year, I will be buying her gift from Shopbob.

I was actually looking at this eco-friendly tote, it is simple, yet very cute, and I am sure she can stuff it with all of her school materials. It is already on sale but using one of the Shopbob coupons that I got would sure save me even more! So this holiday season, start your shopping early and whatever you want, I am definite that there is a coupon for it at savings.com.

Exceptional Values From Zenni

I would like to think that nowadays, there is nothing impossible especially that we are living in the world of modern day technology. Before, we used snail mail to communicate with our family, relative or friends that lives in another part of the world, then there’s the telephone, and now the internet, wherein you can chat with them and even see them on the webcam.

Technology has also many things to do when it comes to our health. One good example is the Lasik surgery that corrects our visions. However, this procedure can cost an individual a fortune and is not for everyone. A large number of people still prefer the traditional eyeglasses. Why? Because not only it correct our eyesights, it is also more convenient compared to contact lenses, which is a bit high maintenance. In addition, eyeglasses can last for a number of years; can be stylish and most especially economical. Economically speaking, I am sure that all of you eyeglasses wearer would like to know where to get very affordable prescription eyeglasses. I suggest you check out ZenniOptical.com. They sell the most affordable and stylish eyeglasses that start from $8. Since they do not have middlemen, they pass their savings to consumers like us. Don’t be left out as new frames have arrived.

Can you believe that this eyeglasses only cost $8.00? Yep and look! The frames come in different colors, so you can buy more!

For the longest, I have wanted to get my eyeglasses from them, but never get the chance to obtain prescriptions from my optometrist. I will do it very soon though, cause I really, really need a new pair of glasses. I almost broke the one that I have right now, so I need a spare. It’s funny how I almost wreck it, but that’s another story. Anyway, if you want to know something funny, read Clark Howard of The Clark Howard Show’s story here.

Another Great Evening

It is Saturday and we had a great evening with Grandma again...Hubby went downtown Chicago and decided to pick her up to spend a few hours with us. We watched a great movie entitle "Gabrielle". We ordered chinese food for dinner as we have nothing to cook in the refrigerator, which means that we need to go to the grocery store. Maybe we will do it tomorrow. My husband just took my MIL home... Meanwhile, I asked the little boy to brush his teeth, pee, change his clothes so he can go to bed. He didn't wanna do it but of course, he has too. It's past 12 midnite already. While writing this post, I checked on him and he's asleep already. :) Good for me, I will be able to do my online stuff without interruption.

Charter Communications Xbox Sweepstakes

For over a week now, my instant messenger is not working for unknown reasons. Even the responsible people for it do not know what the problem was. They said that it seem to be working fine when they checked it on their end. As a result, they suggested I contact my Internet service provider, as they are sure it has something to do with my connection. Unfortunately, my provider cannot resolve my problem either. Worst, it took them forever to answer my call and even the simplest questions I threw them. I made a decision to look for another provider, as this is not the first time I had bad experience with them.

I would like a company that offers services in bundle. Cable TV, high-speed Internet, and Phone in one bill. Just like what Charter Communications offer. However, at this point I am interested in their high-speed Internet, as most of you probably know me being addicted to computer games. I can fully take advantage of my games if I have a high-speed connection. Right now, my gaming experience sucks. That is another reason why I need a better connection. Anyway, I’ve learn that at this point a Charter Communications Xbox Sweepstakes is going on and it is open to everyone who resides in the area where their service is available. You are eligible if you purchase one of their services online or even just register. Imagine that, not only you are going to be with a company that is committed in giving their customers high-quality and reliable service, you will also have a chance to win one of 45 Xbox 360, which you can use to enjoy their high speed internet connection even better! Do not wait up and register now as they are giving away an Xbox 360 everyday until December 15.

To entice you even more, here are the Price Pack Details:

XBox 360® Pro Console
XBox LIVE Headset
Wireless Controller
Component HD AV Cable
20Gb Detachable Hard Drive

Poor Baby

Trick or treat is over. My poor baby wasn't able to go trick or treating last night. He's been under the weather for a while now. He had a cold last week... he was okay already but three days ago his cough came back. So daddy said NO this time. We can't even go to the mall to collect candies. Darn!! But anyways, there's always next year :) I can't compromise his health for candies. We can always dress up with halloween costumes and buy candies anytime. :)

Black Friday Is Coming !

October is almost over. Halloween is coming up and shortly after that Thanksgiving, one of the most awaited holidays here in America. Although we really cannot wait for the Thanksgiving to come, I am sure that most of us are actually looking forward for the day after Thanksgiving, which is the Black Friday. Thus, knowing me, I am not going to wake up at five in the morning just to go to the store and stand in line for hours waiting for the store to open up so just to take advantage of the huge markdowns on a lot of products.

Why would we do such, if we can do it online? All we needed to do is just visit iBlackFriday.com to see what is on their bfads, even weeks in advance. That way, we will be able to make our Christmas shopping list so we know what we needed to buy on Black Friday. They would even send us email alerts as soon as there are newly posted black Friday ads.

Anyway, I have a few items on my holiday shopping list already. For the little boy, I would like to get him some more good books that he could use to practice on his reading. I am sure I will be seeing many amazon.com deals, so I plan to get those books there. For hubby, I think I will be getting him a new GPS, the latest one that I saw on the Circuit City ad, the one with pedestrian mode. For me, however, I have not decided yet. As long as I can get tons of online coupons through iBlackFriday.net, I will be a happy shopper. By the way, be sure to join iBlackFriday.com’s email notification list to be the first to know when new bfads are added.

What Did I Do Today?

What did I do today? October 28th, 2008...Hmmmm... I did a few opps, clean up the house a little bit. Washed some bedsheets, kulet'z clothing... I did not cook dinner except kulet'z burger and reheated some of his mac and cheese... made hubby sandwiches, I baked some Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip Cookies for dessert though.

What did I do on the 28th of October 1998? Ten years ago to be exact....Let me check...Nothing really special... as per my diary, it only says there that "A" called twice but I wasn't able to talk to him...darn!...stayed late in the office....chatted with 86 and htache... Wow! I wonder how 86 and htache are doing now :)

Windy Day

Wow it is starting to get really, really cold here. Yesterday was a very windy day. I can hear the wheezing sound of the wind all day. My Kuletz enjoyed watching the trees swaying back and forth cause of the strong wind. According to the news, we will be experiencing a winter like weather in the coming days...Bring it on!!! ooopppsss sorry guys, I know a lot of you hate winter cause of the difficulty in driving. Sorry mother nature, I'm not trying to challenge you or anything, but I just love seeing the freshly fallen, untouched snowflakes :)

Mustela For Sensitive Skin

My son has been suffering from eczema since he was 3 months old. Although eczema is a very common condition, it has said to be rarely curable, which is the very frustrating part. Detergents, rough clothing, scented soaps, and the change of weather are some of the things that trigger my son's eczema. We have used different types of creams, which would work for a while and then it would not on his next flare-up. To this day, we are still looking/experimenting for something that will work great on his very sensitive skin, something that will work not just for a month or two, but also for a long time.

A friend told me about Mustela, which I immediately checked because my son is starting to scratch his skin again (it was triggered by the change of weather). I am interested in their Stelatopia products, particularly the Stelatopia Cream Cleanser, and the Stelatopia Moisturizing cream. I think these products are going to be a perfect combination that he can use for his daily hygiene. The cleanser, which he can use for his regular shower and bath, is soap-free and contains non-irritating formula, while the moisturizing cream will restructure, nourish, and protect his sensitive skin from future flare-ups.

Mustela is not just for babies but for moms as well. Visit mustelausa.com to learn more about all their products and get some good tips and advice from their parent’s corner.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween Everybody!

The other night we went to the grocery store and at the last minute hubby asked me to get a good size pumpkin. Then when we got home, he immediately sat down and start carving the pumpkin. This was the end result. My son got so excited he even went to bed with the pumpkin next to him. :)

Shop Comfortably

In my previous post, I mentioned that I wanted a new desktop. I know it is absurd cause I checked my desktop’s receipt and it is not even 3 years old. I really don’t know what is going on with this computer; it’s just too darn slow. Maybe I need to defrag it again or something. Nevertheless, I am saving some money to either buy an additional RAM for it or might as well get the laptop computer that I want. I have been drooling to purchase a 17” HP Pavillion Laptop that I saw from ShopWiki.com. I know some of you like the 15” or 14” laptop more, but the reason why I like the 17 inch laptop is because it has a standard keyboard, which I totally need doing my data entry work.

Anyway, since I don’t want to go window-shopping from store to store, I did it online. I spent a few hours comparing Dell, HP, Toshiba, and Gateway laptop computers, their specifications, and prices using one site, ShopWiki.com. ShopWiki is a shopping search engine wherein you can find all the products from every store that is available to you. With ShopWiki, the possibilities of getting great deals are infinite! I had a great time searching from one product to another, didn’t even realize that I have been doing it for hours. The good thing though, is that I am at the comfort of my own home and I did not spend a dime on gas. You can’t beat that!

Banana Split

Last week I told my hubby that I have been craving for some banana split and donut, particularly the one from Dunkin' Donuts. I mentioned it to him at least twice and never heard a word if he's gonna buy me or what. Eventually, I forgot about it. Then the other day, he called me and asked me to open the backdoor for him. Surprisingly, he had brought home an order of Banana Split from Baskin Robbins I think and a donut from Dunkin. Yum! Yum! Sweet! :P

Men's Made-To-Measure Suits

Spending thousands of dollars for a custom suit is very common to public figures like movie actors, sports stars, or politicians especially when they are attending red carpet events in their respective fields. Famous designers made most of their suits so you know how expensive those can be.

For regular people like my husband, a designer mens’ suit is not an option. He cannot afford it. However, there is a great alternative to that, a Made to measure suit from MySuitNY.com. This will save him a lot of time rather than browsing all day through the store’s off-the-rack suits, which are either too big or too small for him. With MySuitNY.com, he will get a tailored suit that is made to his exact measurements for a price that starts at $495.00. A single button jacket with lapel, flat panel with coin pocket pants using a premiere fine fabric, 100% wool black herringbone is an excellent choice. I am about to drag my husband and see if he would like to schedule an appointment because he is very finicky when it comes to suits.

Storefront_logo

Anyways, for those men out there who are interested in getting a perfectly made suit, simply visit MySuitNY.com and fill-out their free online scheduler to make an appointment to be measured. Do not be intimated if you have not had a made-to-measure suit before because a consultant will guide you through the process, from measuring to styling and fabric selection. They have 40 years of manufacturing and retail experience using great technology and fine craftsmanship, so with their custom made suits; you will sure look like a million bucks!

I Want A New PC !!!

I don't know what is going on with my computer. Since I downloaded and installed this Yahoo Messenger for Vista, it has been so slow. I deleted all the unnecessary files already and other stuff that I don't use, but it is still running slow. It keeps on either crashing or freezing. Darn! This is not even three years old. I want a new one!!! Honey, hope you can read this. :D

It Caught Up On Me

I haven't been feeling so very good lately. I guess the lack of sleep last month is catching up on me. I did a lot of data entry then and always up till 5-6 in the morning. Would sleep for 3-4 hours then back to work. My head is constantly aching. Now, all I wanted to do is sleep, sleep and sleep. I just couldn't get it together. Anyways, I think what I need to do is get as much sleep so I can recover from this thing. I guess a bowl of corn soup inspired by my late GrandMa will make me feel better.

Know Your Real Age

Do you know your real age? I am not talking about numbers here. I am talking about your biological age. Your real age might be younger or older than your birthday says. I bumped into a website wherein you can take a RealAge Test. The result is not what I wanted it to be, but here it is:

The outcome is rather older than my chronological age. I feel younger than that though. Nevertheless, this made me realize that I need to do many changes in my health and habits. Yes, I do not drink, I do not smoke, which are good, but not eating breakfast everyday, not getting enough vitamins, or not exercising can be as bad. One very interesting thing I found out in this test is that having a dog actually reduces one’s stress, because it increases your physical activities when you do things with your dog such as daily walks and playtime. Reaching out and spending time with friends can also relieve stressful circumstances.

I have learned a lot from this test and I am encouraging you as well to Take the RealAge Test! It's Free! I have invited my friends too and of course, you can do the same. We can make changes all together and live our lives to the youngest!

Warrick Is Dead!

Warrick Brown, played by Gary Dourdan on the crime drama CSI is now dead. Warrick's character has battled an addiction to pills on the said series. This has somewhat similarity to Gary's real life. He was recently booked at the Palms Spring jail on possession of narcotics and dangerous drugs. It is just sad that the original casts started leaving the show that I've loved to watch. The first one who left was Jorgia Fox and it has been told that William Petersen, playing Gil Grissom, is about to leave the show also. Sad,sad, sad. :(

Pay Per Click Advertising

I know many bloggers who have switched from using free web hosting to a paid one so to upgrade their storage capabilities, get their own emails, have their own domain name and to better their blogs. I have switched too. So far, I am contented with my web hosting company and no plans of switching anytime soon. Although I will drop them in a heartbeat as soon as I encounter even a slightest problem. Anyway, for those of you who would like a reliable web hosting company, checking networksolutions.com might be a brilliant thing to do. Network Solutions offers web hosting packages to individuals and businesses as well. They also provide website security, web design services and online marketing.

Speaking of online marketing, Pay Per Click or PPC Advertising, is also available from Network Solutions. Pay Per Click will help your online business attracts more customers and convert leads to sales. In addition, PPC will drive local traffic to your site, grow your list of contacts, and boost online orders that would ultimately increase your profits. If you would like to know more about this form of web-based marketing and the different web hosting packages that Network Solutions offers, check out networksolutions.com.

Lasik Eye Surgery

I know most of you have heard of lasik eye surgery. I just mentioned that because I am considering of undergoing the said eye treatment. I have been wearing eyeglasses for almost ten years now and I am so tired of all its hassles. Imagine how many times a day I have to clean smudges on my lenses, there are times I’d forget where I put them and have to spend a lot of time looking for it, if the screw falls off fixing it is a pain or just the fact that you have to replace it every now and then is way expensive. Oh I tried contact lenses too, but it is much more of a hassle than eyeglasses. Anyway, I think that with lasik eye surgery, my life would be easier. No eyeglasses to clean, fix or buy. I have seen a lot of satisfied people who have undergone it and said that the surgery is relatively safe and all worth it. It made their lives better. If you would like to know more informtation of lasik, please visit lalasik.com.

Baby Found In The Garbage

I was watching the news last night and was then again shocked having heard that there's a a 2-week old baby found in a pile of garbage somewhere in the Western Suburb of Chicago. The baby was wrapped in a blanket and sitting in a car seat. My goodness, thankfully it is not very cold yet and the baby is fine. I just don't understand it, why do they have to leave the baby in the garbage... I believe that here in Illinois (not sure about the other states), if you wanna give up your baby, all you have to do is to leave them either in a hospital, police or fire station with no question ask. Why in the pile of garbage? :(

Clearance Prices

I was talking to my friend Shawie just a few moments ago. We are both frustrated because of our weights. Before we ended our conversation, we decided to commit ourselves into exercising and making changes with our eating habits. We will keep one another posted about our improvements. We decided to do this because every time we go to our closet, we get so upset because we can’t find an outfit anymore the fit us perfectly. Speaking of clothes, here are some of the outfits that I would like to fit into once I lose some weight.

I am sure my goal is attainable because all I needed is to at least shed 15 pounds. The difficult part though is to tone my abs and muscles. By the way, these clothings are from the website getheavenly.com. I will print this out as my way of motivating myself. When I achieved my target weight, I will definitely shop with them because they offer Cheap Jeans. As of today, it would only cost you $13.80. What a bargain! Discount Clothes, Teen Clothes with the highest quality is what Heavenly Couture offers, mostly it is priced $17.95 or less. Isn’t that tempting? I know it is! I am sure after reading this post you will be in a hurry to visit their website. :-)

Curious George

Curious George is my son's recent cartoon fave. He took this picture of George while he was watching on t.v. Pretty good timing eh! I thought George here was cute. :) I guess my son said, let me snap a photo coz George looks like mommy, hanging on the computer all the time :D
